It's a party

I did another shoot in my studio today, trying to build up the ol' portfolio, this time with my best friend since 6th grade, Michelle! We both moved out here around the same time which has been just delightful.

Nina

This is the first shoot in my studio, and I want to thank Evan and Lindsay for letting me photograph their sweet little two year old, Nina. I am still getting my lights worked out, but I am really happy with how these turned out.

Kaila & Co.

Taking family pictures can be extremely difficult, sometimes children just do not want their picture taken and it can be even harder dealing with a grumpy husband. Getting a good shot can be difficult with so many people, that's why it's so much easier when you know the people personally. My parents were good friends with Kaila's parents growing up, my sister Adrea and Kaila are best friends. As a little girl I absolutely adored Kaila. She's like family. So when Kaila asked me to take hers I was happy to do it, not only did this give me a chance to catch up with her, but to get to know her lovely family. Plus, everyone was happy to have their picture taken and we had fun with it.  And, I need the practice.

These were shot in Columbus, Indiana at the courthouse.

Henry at the Indy Art Museum

I went to visit my family in Indiana last week and my favorite day had to be when I took Henry, my 4 year old nephew to the Indianapolis Art Museum to take some pictures. Henry was ecstatic to go, he was more than happy to take lots of pictures and blow bubbles. In the car on the way to the museum Henry told me all the good things that was happening that day, including cool (school) and now the museum, and later Dairy Queen.

If you have ever met a 4 year old they make sure you know they are 4 years old, so one of the first things we did was take some pictures in front of the big yellow 4.
